In an effort to narrow the skills gap in the country, Germany intends to hire a significant number of skilled workers from India, Labor Minister Hubertus Heil announced on the fringes of an Indian cricket match in Berlin on Monday.
More than 30 initiatives to lower administrative barriers to granting Indians a visa will facilitate travel for Indians to Germany.
According to Heil’s strategy, the consequences of an aging society will worsen in the absence of immigration, and it describes how skills shortages are impeding Germany’s growth and advancement.
The opposite is true in India, where highly educated age groups with high birth years are confronted with a labor market that can only absorb a finite number of them.
The Indian government was encouraging migration, Heil said, adding that ‘a million people are added to the labor market in India every month.’ ‘For that reason, Germany sees a particularly important partner in India with respect to skills immigration, ‘ Heil said.
In order to avoid delays, Heil stated that the German Foreign Office would digitize the visa application process, starting with India by year’s end and moving on to other nations.
Additionally, there will be more promotion of the German language, and Indians who are already in Germany will be better integrated, for instance, by receiving help in finding employment.
Heil stated that next week, when the German and Indian governments consult in India, the government will present its skills strategy.
He declared, ‘We will also do this for the Indian public.’.
